Terms of Service

Last updated: 25-07-26

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Interviewz (interviewz.co), a service operated by Interviewz ("we," "us," or "Interviewz") (the "Service"). By creating an account, opening a client link, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Uses This Service

The Service has two kinds of users:

Ghostwriters create a team account, subscribe to a paid plan, and set up projects with questions for their clients. A team may include multiple members invited by the team owner, each with access to the team's projects, subject to the seat limit of the team's plan.

Clients are invited by a Ghostwriter to a specific project via a private, tokenized link. Clients do not create an account or provide a password — the link itself is how they access and manage their own answers.

Anyone who possesses a client link is treated as authorized to use it. Ghostwriters are responsible for sharing client links only with the intended client.

2. Data Ownership

The Client owns the audio recordings and transcripts they submit. Neither the Ghostwriter nor Interviewz claims ownership over a Client's recorded answers or the resulting transcripts. A Client may access, download, or request deletion of their own audio and transcripts at any time using their client link, without ever needing to create an account.

By submitting a recording, a Client grants the Ghostwriter who invited them a license to view, transcribe, and use the content of that recording for the purpose the Ghostwriter and Client have agreed to outside of this Service (for example, writing an article, book, or other content). That license does not transfer ownership of the underlying recording or transcript to the Ghostwriter or to us.

Ghostwriters are responsible for their own arrangements with their Clients regarding what the transcribed content will be used for. We are not a party to that arrangement.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Record or upload a voice answer that includes someone else's voice or personal information without that person's knowledge and consent;
  • Upload unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content;
  • Attempt to access another Ghostwriter's account or another Client's recordings without authorization (including by guessing or sharing client links that aren't yours to share);
  • Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers to operate the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), OpenAI (voice transcription), Stripe (subscription billing), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (error monitoring), Upstash (rate limiting and abuse prevention), and Vercel (application hosting). Your use of the Service means your data — audio, transcripts, and account information — will pass through these providers as part of normal operation. We do not control, and are not responsible for, these providers' independent practices, though we select providers we believe handle data responsibly.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

Ghostwriter accounts require a paid subscription, billed through Stripe on one of several tiered plans. Each plan has its own limits on team seats and active client projects, and can be billed monthly or annually. New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial; a payment method is required upfront, and your card will be charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. Upgrading to a higher tier takes effect immediately; downgrades are not currently supported.

You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time from the Billing section of your dashboard. Fees already charged are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.

6. Our Intellectual Property

Aside from Client-owned recordings and transcripts described in Section 2, the Service itself — including its software, design, and branding — is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service itself.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Automated voice transcription is not perfect and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing transcripts before relying on them.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to the Service or other users.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or a notice on the Service). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
